Fady Wassef, MD

Fady Wassef, MD, is a double board-certified physician in pain medicine and anesthesiology. He is the founder and president of New York Interventional Pain Physicians.

Dr Wassef received a degree in molecular biology from the University of California, Berkeley before completing his medical degree at Penn State University College of Medicine. He completed a residency in anesthesiology at SUNY Downstate and a fellowship in pain medicine at Mount Sinai in Manhattan. Dr. Wassef served for six years as an assistant professor in the department of anesthesiology, perioperative, and pain medicine at Mount Sinai.

Dr. Wassef is fluent in Spanish, Arabic, and French. His clinical focus is on chronic neck and back pain and disc herniations. He uses an integrative approach, with a focus on an opiate-free, minimally invasive approach to treatment. He employs a wide array of cutting-edge procedural techniques to target specific sources of pain, individualized to each patient’s needs. His areas of particular interest include discectomy procedures, radiofrequency procedures, and neuromodulation (spinal cord stimulation).
